Web pages using META TAGS, and other tricks on the page is important, but to get better connected to the web, it helps to register your site, and important pages, with some of the bigger search robots. These services offer searching of page data banks, and you want to have your site's included. The DESCRIPTION and the KEYWORDS you came up with are used again, only you get to type them in to describe your content. They visit your site (sometimes). Just go to the internet and do a search for "SEARCH SPIDERS" or SEARCH ROBOTS", explore. You'll find many choices, including spending money, in which case, Integrated will quote you many competitive packages...

How to Suggest Your Site with Yahoo

The Yahoo! directory is organized by subject. Most sites in it are suggested to us by users. Sites are placed in categories by Yahoo! Surfers, who visit and evaluate your suggestions and decide where they best belong. We do this to ensure that Yahoo! is organized in the best possible way, making the directory easy to use, intuitive, helpful, and fair to everyone.

With this in mind, we ask that you follow three simple, yet important steps if you have a site (URL) you'd like to suggest:

Step 1: Check to See if Your Site is Already in Yahoo!

An important first step, because if your site is already listed in Yahoo!, you need go no further. Check by searching Yahoo! for your site by title, or by browsing appropriate categories.

Step 2: Find the Appropriate Category in Yahoo!

Finding an appropriate category for your site is at the heart of this process. Remember that Yahoo! Surfers visit each site suggested to us, and proper categorization on your part helps us process suggestions quickly. What is an appropriate category? Read a list of important pointers explaining how we organize our directory.

Step 3. Suggest your site from the Appropriate Category

Suggest your site from the category you think most appropriate. Do this by clicking on the "Suggest a Site" link at the bottom of that category page. (It's just to the right of the copyright and the "Company Information" link.) Again, there is a list of important pointers to help you establish where your site belongs. Also remember that the final placement of your site is determined by Yahoo! Surfers. n When you click on "Suggest a Site" in the appropriate category, you'll see an online form asking for information about your site. (If you are suggesting your business site somewhere within our main commercial categories, you will see a link to the fee-based Business Express submission process -- required for commercial sites - see below.)

In the "category" space on the form, you'll see the name of the category you've chosen. Please be prepared to provide, among other information, your site's title, URL, and a brief description.

Here's how to add your site on Lycos. Please come back to this page and submit updates when your web pages change.

Submitting a site to MSN

Microsoft Network (MSN.net) does not offer a site submission program. Microsoft offers a number of advertising options on their site, including their "Skyscraper Ad", a 160 pixel wide by 600 high wide banner that is rotated on their pages. This banner is placed on the right edge of the screen. Also offered is a number of ad spots on the MSN Music network. Each service is uniquely priced, content for your ad must be submitted over the web. Please note that prepayment must be received by Microsoft Finance Operations before your ad can run.

THESE SEARCH ENGINES ARE FREE - YOUR SITE WAS SUBMITTED ONCE "at no cost" WHEN IT WENT INTO PRODUCTION. WE CONSIDER THIS GROUP THE < standard > engines. I submitted it again to each of these search robots again (at now cost) :

There are some free search engines, and some low cost one's too. It's not too hard to add a site usually. Integrated normally does one submission when your site is finished, I did another one over the weekend very late at night (when the internet isn't too busy is the best time to do this).

Additional submission by Integrated to the above "STANDARD" engines is $40 for each additional submission, and $10 per session plus costs to add to other engines if we do it for you.

But it will be worthless if we can't get more HITS to the site. Make sure every computer you have uses your domain as it's web start page. If needed, I'll add whatever preferred sites to the top of your links page. If you need help (or anyone else), just email me.

If you need some other thoughts on drawing visitors, please ask. I want your site to work for you, or I guess didn't do my job ! But the best web site won't "work" if it's not visited . . .
